How to Care for Your Candle

There is nothing better then walking into a home that feels welcoming. Although candles bring relaxation and comfort, they can be precarious if not monitored properly.

There are a few things to remember when burning your candles.

  • Before you burn your candle (each time), trim the wick to at least 1/4 inch to prevent flaring, popping, smoking and soot.

  • When lighting your candle for the first time, burn your candle until the wax melts across the entire surface of the vessel. This will prevent tunneling and will make your candle last longer.

  • Do not leave your candle unattended and keep away from children and pets. Burn your candle on a flat surface away from anything flammable.

  • Never touch or move a burning candle. Wait until the wax is no longer liquified and the vessel has cooled before relocation.

  • Do not burn for more than 4 hours or your wick will “mushroom” and cause a large unstable flame.

  • When extinguishing use a candle snuffer if available. Do not use water to extinguish a candle, this will cause the hot wax to splatter.

We hope you enjoy your new purchase.
